Equestrian Plan is a legal expenses insurance contract, which helps you to recover uninsured losses and costs from the person responsible for the accident following a vehicle collision.

Your cover is valid for one year.

Insured Incident

 

Any accident occurring during the period of insurance, which takes place within the geographical limits where there are reasonable prospect of making a successful recovery from an identifiable party

 

 

 

 

You must ensure that we are told about the claim within 180 days of event which caused it.

Uninsured Loss Recovery and Personal Injury

 

If we agree it necessary, we will appoint a  solicitor or claims adjuster to act on your behalf, who will negotiate the recovery of uninsured losses and costs following an insured incident relating to the use of an insured vehicle or horse involved in a road traffic accident which causes:

 

a)       Loss or damage to the insured vehicle or horse.

b)       Loss or damage to any personal property owned by you whilst the property is in/on or attached to the insured vehicle or horse.

c)        The death of or injury to you whilst in or getting into or out of the insured vehicle or whilst using the horse.

 

 

 

£50,000 is the maximum sum payable by the insurers for all insured incidents. 

Only legal costs and expenses charged by a solicitor or claims adjuster appointed by us are covered

We will not be liable for any legal costs and expenses incurred prior to our acceptance of a claim

Unless we agree to commence court proceedings or there is a conflict of interest we have the right to choose solicitor or claims adjuster to assist you.

VET fees, Stabling and Accommodation charges

 

In the event of your horse being injured in a road traffic accident emergency VET and stabling fees will be paid along with emergency accommodation charges

 

 

 

The first £75.00 inc of VAT is covered in respect of emergency stabling charges incurred by you regardless of who was to blame for any road traffic accident ins which you were involved in, will be paid if you are stranded more than 40 miles from your home or intended destination whichever is closer

The first £50.00 inc of VAT is covered in respect of vet’s fees incurred by you regardless of who was to blame for any road traffic accident ins which you were involved in, will be paid if you are stranded more than 40 miles from your home or intended destination whichever is closer

 If you are away from your normal place of residence and you are involved in a road traffic accident, when on your horse, up to a maximum of £65.00 inc VAT in respect of overnight accommodation charges is covered irrespective of who was to blame for the accident, provided that the accident occurs within the geographical limits, will be paid if you are stranded more than 40 miles away from your normal place of residence or intended destination

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Private cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles up to 35cwt only, excluding vehicles with a seating capacity in excess of 12

Cancellation

We hope you are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, you have the right to cancel your policy during 14 days after you buy the policy or 14 days after you receive your policy documents, which ever is later. Any paid premium will be refunded in full. If you cancel after the 14-day period has expired, no refund of premium is applicable.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

If Inter Partner Assistance SA is unable to meet its liabilities under the insurance, you may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS. The first £2,000 of a claim is protected in full and 90% of the remainder of the claim will be met. You can get further information from us or the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Complaints Procedure
